{"id":399315,"date":"2026-01-08T08:07:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T08:07:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/399315\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T08:07:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T08:07:09","slug":"jack-miller-quartararo-oozes-talent-but-passing-borderline-impossible-on-inline-yamaha-exclusive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/399315\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Miller: Quartararo \u201coozes talent\u201d, but passing \u201cborderline impossible\u201d on Inline Yamaha &#8211; Exclusive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fabio Quartararo\u2019s advantage over his fellow Yamaha riders saw the former MotoGP champion finish the 2025 season eight places ahead of the next-best M1 rider, Jack Miller.<\/p>\n<p>Miller managed to get the better of Quartararo on several occasions and finished as top<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/monster-energy-yamaha-motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Yamaha<\/a> in six races, including the Inline M1\u2019s farewell appearance at Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>But over a season where Quartararo was the only Yamaha rider to reach the podium and should have won the British <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MotoGP<\/a> &#8211; while Miller claimed a best finish of fourth, Alex Rins seventh and Miguel Oliveira ninth &#8211; qualifying proved decisive.<\/p>\n<p>The former world champion celebrated five pole positions, beaten only by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1654\/marc-marquez\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Marc Marquez<\/a>, and finished the year third in the BMW Award standings, behind the Ducatis of the Marquez brothers.<\/p>\n<p>Miller, the next-best Yamaha qualifier, finished twelfth overall in the Saturday morning rankings, the highlight of his debut season at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/teams\/prima-pramac-yamaha\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pramac <\/a>being a front-row start alongside Quartararo at Phillip Island.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been friends with Fabio for a long time, so it was great to be able to work together,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/1452\/jack-miller\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miller<\/a> told Crash.net, \u201cBut obviously, he&#8217;s the first person that you want to beat, and vice versa.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/3000_gng_1253979_hires.jpg\"   type=\"image\/jpeg\" alt=\"Quartararo under attack in the 2025 Austrian MotoGP.\" loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.44\"\/> <\/p>\n<p>Quartararo under attack in the 2025 Austrian MotoGP.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian described <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911998\/fabio-quartararo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Quartararo<\/a> as oozing talent in qualifying and sympathised with the Frenchman\u2019s frustration at often losing ground in the races.<\/p>\n<p>Miller explained why overtaking on the Inline M1, which is being replaced by the new V4 machine in 2026, was \u201cborderline impossible\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe&#8217;s special. For one lap, in terms of talent, the guy oozes it,\u201d Miller said of Quartararo\u2019s Saturday morning form. \u201cIt&#8217;s just unfortunate that the bike wasn&#8217;t much fun to race.<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p> Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt wasn&#8217;t very user-friendly when you&#8217;re in a group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou had to ride it very specifically, and in terms of switching lines and stuff like that, it doesn&#8217;t like it.
