McTaggart Construction has been praised for its support of the British & Scottish Cycling Festival held at Irvine Beach over the Hogmanay and New Year period.<\/p>\n

The four-day festival attracted over 700 cyclocross riders and featured a programme of prestigious racing, including the Lloyds Bank Cyclocross National Trophy Series.<\/p>\n

The event kicked off with floodlit night races and a New Year\u2019s Eve party on Hogmanay, followed by Kids & Adult Relay Races on 1st January, Age Group National Trophy Races on 2nd January, and Junior & Elite National Trophy plus U8-U12 Races on 3rd January.<\/p>\n

McTaggart Construction provided support for the festival, including barriers, lighting, toilets, and water bowsers. However, the standout feature was a purpose-built ramp constructed by the company\u2019s scaffolding team, which allowed the cyclocross race to incorporate a unique route on and off the sand – a technical challenge that became a highlight of the course.<\/p>\n

The ramp was built under the direction and supervision of Jason Boyce, with team members Ian Hamilton, Graeme Lammie, Bobby Stevenson, Allan McKinnie and Allan Boyce dedicating some of their holiday time to ensure the structure was completed to the highest standard. John Kelland also provided crucial support through transportation services for delivery and movement of essential equipment.<\/p>\n

British Cycling officials expressed their delight with the event, while the innovative course layout received rave reviews from competitors and spectators alike. Feedback from riders, volunteers and supporters was overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n

Ally Anderson, director at McTaggart Construction, said: \u201cWe\u2019re extremely proud to have supported this fantastic cycling festival. Events like this showcase the very best of Scottish sport and community spirit, and it\u2019s wonderful to see our team members volunteering their time to help make it such a success. Event organiser, Alan Anderson, added: \u201cWithout the support of McTaggart Construction, the realisation of the concept of the whole four-day CROSSmanay cyclo-cross festival would simply not have been possible. There would have been no night time racing, no power or water, no racecourse security and absolutely no racing on the beach.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat the scaffolders gave up their Christmas break to build the ramp is testimony to the excellent culture McTaggart\u2019s have created within their workforce and with the wider community. We cannot thank McTaggart enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
