{"id":399806,"date":"2026-01-08T13:31:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T13:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/399806\/"},"modified":"2026-01-08T13:31:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T13:31:08","slug":"will-goodrick-clarke-exeter-chiefs-prop-extends-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/399806\/","title":{"rendered":"Will Goodrick-Clarke: Exeter Chiefs prop extends contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Exeter Chiefs loose-head prop Will Goodrick-Clarke has signed a contract extension with the Prem club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 30-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/rugby-union\/articles\/cw00323x260o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">moved to Exeter in the summer of 2024<\/a> from Champ side Ealing, having previously been at London Irish before the club went into administration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He has played 28 times for Exeter since joining the Chiefs and has started 12 of his side&#8217;s 15 games this season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Goodrick-Clarke is the latest out-of-contract player to agree new terms at Sandy Park, following others including Greg Fisilau, Stephen Varney and Ethan Roots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Individually, he&#8217;s having a really good season,&#8221; Exeter director of rugby Rob Baxter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.exeterchiefs.co.uk\/news\/goodrick-clarke-recommits-to-chiefs-pack\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told the club website., external<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;He&#8217;s played a lot of rugby for us having had a really good off-season followed by a strong pre-season where he worked really hard.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s great to have Will staying, someone who I believe is one of the top EQP (England qualified players) looseheads in the country and a player who I still feel is going to keep improving and be part of a very important pack of forwards for us going forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Exeter have not disclosed the length of Goodrick-Clarke&#8217;s new contract. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Exeter Chiefs loose-head prop Will Goodrick-Clarke has signed a contract extension with the Prem club.
