A resurfaced interview has revealed Perth-born hairdresser Jules Neale turned down AFL<\/a> star Lachie Neale when the pair first met.<\/p>\n

Jules, who has now separated from Lachie after seven years of marriage following an explosive scandal, wasn\u2019t impressed by the Brisbane Lions premiership player when she first laid eyes on the then 18-year-old.<\/p>\n

During an interview at the Brownlow Medal count in 2019, Lachie recalled the future husband and wife were introduced to each other while he was still playing for Fremantle, by none other than Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time I met Jules I was 18 and I asked Pav to introduce me to her,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came back and said: \u2018She\u2019s not interested in an 18-year-old Harry Styles lookin\u2019 kid\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair didn\u2019t become romantically involved \u201cuntil about six years later\u201d when Lachie finally wooed Jules.<\/p>\n

Keen she was, with Jules saying \u2018yes\u2019 to Lachie\u2019s proposal in 2017 before the couple tied the knot the following year.<\/p>\n

The pair, who share two children, resettled in Brisbane after Lachie moved from Fremantle and signed a contract with the Lions.<\/p>\n

That picture-perfect life came tumbling down last month when Jules announced she had experienced the \u201cultimate betrayal\u201d within her marriage, suggesting former friend Tess Crosley was at the centre of the scandal.<\/p>\n
