PROVIDENCE, R.I. \u2013 Twelve different members of the Brown football team have combined to earn 13 Phil Steele All-Ivy League honors, the organization has announced.

\nSecond Team: Matt Childs<\/a> (RB), Ty Pezza<\/a> (WR), Elias Archie<\/a> (DB), Miles Brophy<\/a> (DB), Jack Middleton<\/a> (DL), Ike Odimegwu<\/a> (DL), John Perdue<\/a> (LB)
\nThird Team: Trevor Foley<\/a> (WR)
\nFourth Team: Levi Linowes<\/a> (TE), James Murphy<\/a> (QB), Sam Smith<\/a> (LB)

\nChilds earned two honors by being named a first teamer (all-purpose) and a second team honoree at running back. He tied for second in the Ivy League this season with 12 total touchdowns and was tied for second with 72 points. He ranked eighth with 51.7 rushing yards per game, while his 89.0 all-purpose yards ranked fifth in the league. He had five separate two-touchdown performances this season, including in each of the team’s two Ivy wins to close the year.<\/p>\n

Pedrotti also earned first team honors in his first year as the Bears’ longsnapper.

\nPezza led the Bears and ranked fifth in the Ivy League with 59.9 receiving yards per game while also leading the team in receptions (46) and touchdowns (7). He had two touchdowns as part of a career-high 172-yard effort at Cornell on October 25 and scored at least one touchdown in six games this season.<\/p>\n

Archie posted 14 pass breakups this season, tied for the third most in a single season in program history.<\/p>\n

Odimegwu’s huge breakout season saw him post 9.0 sacks, the second-most in the Ivy League and fourth-most in program history. His 10.0 tackles for loss ranked third in the league. His efforts helped Brown total 22.0 sacks on the season, the second-most in the league, six more than last season, and the most of the James Perry era.<\/p>\n

Perdue was previously named an AP Honorable Mention All-American and ranked second in the league with 8.8 tackles per game. He also led the team with three interceptions and chipped in a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.<\/p>\n

Middleton’s first year on College Hill saw him rank second on the team with 5.0 sacks and 17.0 tackles as part of a much-improved Bears’ pass rush, which included 2.0 sacks against Princeton and a key sack at Bryant.<\/p>\n

Brophy made a strong statement in his first season at Brown, ranking second on the team and third in the Ivy League with 78.0 tackles, and added five pass breakups and one interception, which helped seal the win over URI.

\nFoley landed on the third team following a breakout sophomore season that saw him rank second on the Bears and 10th in the Ivy with 55.8 receiving yards per contest. He had at least 99 receiving yards in three straight games, including a season-high 145 yards against Yale on Nov. 8.

\nOn the fourth team, Murphy finished the season first in the league and third in the nation with 279.8 passing yards per game. He finished the season with 18 touchdown passes and had five games with at least 340 passing yards. His 24.6 completions per game ranked second in the nation.

\nLinowes took over as the team’s starting tight end and posted 19 catches for 239 yards and one touchdown this season, which came on a 42-yard reception in the season opener against Georgetown.

\nSmith ranked third on the team with 62.0 tackles and added seven pass breakups and 2.0 TFLs.
