The highlight of the day belonged to Gary Woodland (-9) as the 2019 US Open champion made a stunning albatross, a two, at the par five fifth. <\/p>\n
Woodland holed a seven-iron from 186 yards out after a 337-yard drive for the second albatross of the 41-year-old\u2019s life.<\/p>\n
The previous one came when he was in high school, and coincidentally was with a seven-iron as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe key is obviously get it in the fairway and give yourself a chance,\u201d Woodland said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI hit a nice drive, had 186 hole, we were trying to land it 183 and the wind was a little in so we thought it was a perfect 7-iron and it came off right where we were looking, landed 183, landed three short. <\/p>\n
\u201cNice to see the crowd go nuts to make sure it went in. It was a good shot, but it was a lot of luck and one that I\u2019ll remember, for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cI mean, from that far away you\u2019re just, I\u2019m hoping the crowd goes nuts first and then I\u2019ll know the ball disappeared. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t tell if it went behind the pin or not. Somebody yelled \u201cgo in\u201d when it landed and so that was a nice bonus for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the top of the leaderboard, Young has three holes to go in his second round.<\/p>\n
The American followed up his opening round 63 by being seven-under par for the round to lead by a shot from England\u2019s Aaron Rai, who has five holes left to play.<\/p>\n

Mac Meissner and Sungjae Im (-12) are the clubhouse leaders after Meissner shot an equal low round of the day 63 alongside fellow American Cameron Rodgers (-7).<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, at the other end of the leaderboard, big names Max Homa (-1 with five holes to play) and Tom Kim (+2 with five holes to play) appear set to miss the cut and end their hopes of reaching the playoffs.<\/p>\n
PGA Tour rookie Karl Vilips, who needs a solo fourth finish or better to jump into the top 70 in the FedEx Cup standings, is the best placed of the Australians at -6 following a second straight round of 67, while Aaron Baddeley has also made the cut at -3 following a 67 of his own.<\/p>\n
