Nigerian singer, 9ice, has claimed that his controversial \u201cprophesy\u201d about winning a Grammy on his song \u2018Street Credibility\u2019 featuring 2Face, has been fulfilled by his colleague, Burna Boy.<\/p>\n
DAILY POST recalls that Burna Boy became the first Nigerian solo artist to win the Best Global Music Album for Twice As Tall at the 63rd Grammy Awards in 2021.<\/p>\n
Speaking in a recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show, 9ice, who had earlier boasted on his song \u2018Street Credibility\u2019 in 2008 that he would win a Grammy, tackled those mocking him for not winning a Grammy despite his boasts.<\/p>\n
He claimed that his critics were wrong, stressing that his verse fits as a prediction for Burna Boy\u2019s Grammy win.<\/p>\n
9ice explained that at the time he made the song, Grammy was not attainable for Afropop artistes.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cI was talking about Grammy and I wasn\u2019t given, Burna [Boy] got it. We [Nigerians] never get am?<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the time I was talking about it, it wasn\u2019t even attainable for Afropop artists at all. That\u2019s why I said when artists sing, they can be passing messages.
