The Stars have split the Melbourne derby series with the Renegades this season, coasting to a eight wicket win at Marvel Stadium.<\/p>\n

Set 167 for victory, the Stars reached the total with 25 balls in hand.<\/p>\n

The red-hot Sam Harper top scored with 84 not out. Glenn Maxwell was unbeaten on 20.<\/p>\n

Harper skied one high with three Renegades fielders converging to the area at deep midwicket to track the ball. The catch couldn\u2019t be made with two players very almost running into each other. <\/p>\n

Fraser-McGirk was dismissed for 17. An over earlier, he skied one which hit the Marvel Stadium roof.<\/p>\n

Originally, the rules stated that if a batsman hit the roof, it would be an automatic six, but that was changed ahead of the 2023-24 BBL season.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s up to the umpires to determine if the ball was going to clear the boundary before hitting the roof. If they decide it wasn\u2019t, it is deemed a dead ball.<\/p>\n

For Fraser-McGirk\u2019s strike, the umpires ruled it wasn\u2019t going over the boundary, so the ball was rebowled. <\/p>\n

\u201cBecause they ascertained it wasn\u2019t going to clear the rope, it is a dead ball. Good call,\u201d Mark Howard said on Fox Cricket.<\/p>\n

Josh Brown led the way for the Renegades, scoring 80 off 50 balls. <\/p>\n
