\n Emergency services, including more than seven police cars, descended on Asda at the Orbital Shopping Park on Friday afternoon at around 2pm.\n<\/p>\n
\n Wiltshire Police later confirmed that a woman in her 20s had been taken to Great Western Hospital to be treated for injuries to her legs, not believed to be life-changing, following a mental health-related incident.\n<\/p>\n
\n Locals have been sending their best wishes to the young woman and wishing her well with her recovery.\n<\/p>\n
\n One reader said: “4-6 weeks wait for a mental health appointment unless you ring the crisis line, there\u2019s no words, my heart goes out to this beautiful soul and also her family to, sending you peace and love!”\n<\/p>\n
\n While another said: “Wishing this sweet girl love and support, hoping she gets the help she needs.”\n<\/p>\n
\n “I really hope the young lady receives the correct help she deserves and needs. This is absolutely heart-breaking”, added another.\n<\/p>\n

\n Meanwhile, another reader raised concerns about mental health support services in Swindon: “There is no support for mental health in Swindon, shocking, and even if you’re lucky enough to get it, 6 sessions is all you get then you’re supposed to be cured. Disgusting!”\n<\/p>\n
\n Following the incident, a spokesperson for the force said: “At around 2pm today, January 9,\u00a0officers and our partners in the Fire and Ambulances services responded to a mental health-related incident at the Orbital Shopping Centre, Swindon.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cA woman in her 20s has been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries to her legs which are not thought to be life-changing.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cA scene was put in place but has now been lifted. There was no risk to the wider public.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: \u201cWe were called at 14:47hrs on January 9 to an incident in Swindon.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer and a first responder to the scene.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n A spokesman for\u00a0Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew from Stratton was called to the Orbital Shopping Centre at 2.56pm to assist police and ambulance colleagues with an incident.\n<\/p>\n
