The official website for the television anime<\/a> of mamakari<\/a>‘s Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love<\/a> (Debu to Love to Ayamachi to!<\/a>) manga opened on Friday and unveiled the first promotional video, visual, main cast, staff, ending theme song artist, and October 6 premiere.<\/p>\n

The anime stars Aya End\u014d<\/a> as Yumeko K\u014dda and Y\u016bma Uchida<\/a> as Keisuke Y\u016bki. Uchida also performs the ending theme song “Watashi de Yokatta!!!” (I’m Glad It’s Me!!!).<\/p>\n

Kazuomi Koga<\/a> (Rent-A-Girlfriend<\/a>) is directing the anime at Marvy Jack<\/a>. Aya Watatane (live-action Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love) is handling the screenplay and series composition. Atsuko Takahashi<\/a> (Rainy Cocoa<\/a>) is designing the characters. Takahashi is also a chief animation director along with Kyoko Kametani<\/a> (Fruits Basket<\/a>) and Izumi Yamanaka<\/a> (Dog Signal<\/a>) . Satoshi H\u014dno<\/a> (Aggretsuko<\/a>) and Karin Nakano<\/a> (Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m Actually the Strongest<\/a>) are composing the music.<\/p>\n

NTT Solmare<\/a> publishes the manga in English through its MangaPlaza<\/a> service<\/a>, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n

“This is the punishment for a fat, ugly girl like me falling in love with someone as beautiful as you…” Yumeko had a mountain of complexes about herself. Then, a terrible accident befalls her. Though somehow saved from the brink of death, Yumeko wakes up a completely different person. “This is…me…?! I’m SO cute!!” Those around her can’t hide their surprise and wonderment at this 180\u00b0change… But, Yumeko’s new hyper-positive attitude starts to change her surroundings, too. Worries and complexes can affect anyone, and Yumeko will chop right through those of her various supporting characters!! In love, work, friendship… And an attempted murder case?! This frenzied romantic comedy will leave you bubbling with energy!<\/p>\n

mamakari launched the manga in 2019, and NTT Solmare published the manga’s 13th compiled book volume digitally on June 6. The manga inspired a live-action series adaptation in November 2022.<\/p>\n
