The Thunder\u2019s update said: \u201cHe\u2019ll work closely with Thunder\u2019s medical team over the next 24 hours in a bid to be fit for the season\u2019s final home game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sydney Thunder<br \/>Ins: Anderson \/ Outs: McAndrew<br \/>Warner (c), Agar, Anderson, Andrews, Bancroft, \u2060Billings, Gilkes, Green, Hadley, Konstas, Maddinson, Sams, Sangha, Willey<\/p>\n<p>The Renegades announced their 14-man squad for the game, with spinner Adam Zampa named to return from a neck strain. Matthew Spoors drops out.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on FoxCricket during Saturday\u2019s derby BBL coverage, Zampa said: \u201cI\u2019d prefer to be out there for sure\u2026 little niggle in the neck. But hopefully be alright for the next game.\u201d\u00a0Zampa\u2019s availability would likely force Callum Stow out of the side.<\/p>\n<p>Melbourne Renegades<br \/>Ins: Zampa \/ Outs: Spoors<br \/>Squad: Sutherland (c), Behrendorff, Brown, Dixon, Doggett, Elliott, F-McGurk, Hassan Khan, Jewell, Muhammad Rizwan, Sandhu, Seifert, Stow, Zampa<\/p>\n<p>ROGERS RETURN CLOSE<\/p>\n<p>Renegades fast bowler Tom Rogers made a successful return from injury on Saturday, bowling 5 overs for Footscray in a 50-over Victorian Premier Cricket game.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bonusbank.com.au?aff=Honeyball&amp;p=102575\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/728x90.jpeg\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rogers hasn\u2019t played for months since undergoing shoulder surgery but is on the comeback trail for the Gades.<\/p>\n<p>The fast bowler only bowled 5 overs, finishing with 0-35 including a maiden in Footscray\u2019s clash with Fitzroy-Doncaster.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers\u2019 availability will be a major boost for the Gades as they try to keep their finals hopes alive, but it\u2019s unclear when he\u2019ll be ready to resume in the BBL.<\/p>\n<p>The Gades have a Round 8 double, starting with Monday\u2019s game away to the Sydney Thunder followed by Thursday\u2019s home clash with the Perth Scorchers.<\/p>\n<p>Last month when the Rogers injury news first came out, the Gades said they were hopeful he\u2019d return in early January and captain Will Sutherland said he was progressing well.<\/p>\n<p>GADES IN CLUB ACTION<\/p>\n<p>Rogers wasn\u2019t the only Renegades player in action in Victorian club cricket on Saturday, with Andrew Tye pushing his case for re-selection with 3-40 and 24 from 22 balls for Prahran.<\/p>\n<p>All-rounder Matthew Spoors came up against Rogers\u2019 Footscray, scoring 64 from 55 balls as an opener, plus taking 1-61 from 10 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Forgotten quick Fergus O\u2019Neill took 1-32 from 8 overs and made 7* from 6 balls for Melbourne as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bonusbank.com.au?aff=Honeyball&amp;p=102575\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/728x90.jpeg\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>GameDay Squad is an Australian owned fantasy sports platform that was made by fantasy sports fans, for fantasy sports fans.
