Aston Martin has hired ex-Red Bull simulation guru Giles Wood after Adrian Newey<\/a> deemed the Silverstone-based team<\/a>\u2018s Formula 1<\/a> simulator as \u201cweak\u201d.<\/p>\n

The British marque<\/a> hopes to enter the sport\u2019s latest era with a championship-winning package.<\/p>\n

With two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso in their ranks, Lawrence Stroll quickly onboarded the likes of Newey and Honda to its project for 2026.<\/p>\n

The combination of Newey and Honda was critical to Red Bull\u2019s success in the ground-effect era. Stroll Sr. hopes to make it work for his team, too.<\/p>\n

That said, Newey is reported to be less-than-happy with the newly built state-of-the-art facilities at Aston Martin. Last year, he dubbed the team\u2019s driver-in-the-loop simulator \u201cweak\u201d and one that \u201cneeds a lot of work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stroll Sr. has been quick to accede to his Team Principal\u2019s demands, by hiring his former partner-in-crime Giles Wood, a highly-rated simulation technician. <\/p>\n

To round this off, Aston Martin have also secured services of Marco Fainello \u2013 who has worked with Ferrari on its simulator. <\/p>\n

\"MikeAston Martin finished seventh in the Constructors\u2019 Championship last year, with Adrian Newey focusing on the 2026 car<\/p>\n

How Adrian Newey fits into Aston Martin\u2019s F1 title plans <\/p>\n

With the latest technical rule-set set to revamp the very fabric of the sport, Newey\u2019s expertise in nailing regulations by reading between the lines will be crucial to the team\u2019s competitive hopes. <\/p>\n

Heading into the private test at Barcelona, later this month, and the first race of the season in Melbourne, Stroll Sr. kept his cards close to his chest in terms of the expectations within the team and back at the factory. <\/p>\n

\u201cNo one knows at this time of the year how everyone\u2019s going to look in Melbourne,\u201d he said. \u201cFor sure, we don\u2019t have all the tools to be a top team, so there\u2019s no hiding behind that, but time will tell how good we look. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think, for us, it\u2019s exciting, going forward to the new regulations, with everyone coming on board, the new structure and all the people. We\u2019re looking forward to it as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coming to Newey, the Canadian business mogul highlighted how the Briton\u2019s stature only gees the people around him. Moreover, Newey\u2019s inherent competitive instinct is only going to make the team sharper. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s just good for everyone because Adrian is just all about performance and winning,\u201d Stroll added.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what we\u2019re here for, to be fast and competitive, and that\u2019s what Adrian\u2019s pushing everyone to be better at. Having Adrian around is only positive for everyone to push, everyone to be better and to make the car faster.\u201d<\/p>\n
