\u201cI\u2019m so thrilled and honored to be amongst this group of extraordinary actresses,\u201d Byrne said<\/a> of her nomination<\/a> in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) category. \u201cThey\u2019re all just brilliant and bring everything to their art form. I\u2019m such a fan. Our movie is such a tiny movie, and the movie is the character, and the character is the movie. So, this nomination feels like a true acknowledgement of Mary Bronstein\u2019s singular, brilliant, unique, and extraordinary film.\u201d<\/p>\n Bryne is up against Cynthia Erivo (Wicked: For Good), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Amanda Seyfried (The Testament Of Ann Lee), and Emma Stone (Bugonia). \u201cI\u2019ve given up long ago trying to predict what will or won\u2019t be seen or acknowledged,\u201d she added. \u201cI simply can\u2019t crack the code. So having this happen is an experience. I think the film is outstanding, wild and challenging, so any critical acknowledgement has been extraordinary. The movie is unlike anything you\u2019ve ever seen and like nothing you\u2019ll ever experience \u2013 and Mary shot it in 27 days. It\u2019s important to also see this as a female story, through a female lens.
