For a Chicago Bears superfan who once called a regular-season game \u201cthe most important day in the history of humankind,\u201d missing a marquee NFL matchup takes a very good reason.<\/p>\n

For Ashton Kutcher<\/a>, that reason arrived under the bright lights of Hollywood rather than the floodlights of Soldier Field.<\/p>\n

Kutcher, a lifelong Bears<\/a> supporter, was not on hand for one of the NFL\u2019s most talked-about playoff classics this weekend. Instead, he was walking the red carpet alongside his wife, Mila Kunis, at the Golden Globe Awards, marking the couple\u2019s first joint awards show appearance in four years while reigniting past criticism for their connections to multiple disgraced celebrities<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The timing couldn\u2019t have been more ironic given Kutcher\u2019s recent viral enthusiasm for Chicago\u2019s rivalry showdown with the Green Bay Packers.<\/p>\n

Just weeks earlier, Kutcher had taken to Instagram ahead of the Bears\u2019 Week 16 rematch with the Green Bay Packers, delivering an impassioned monologue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not one to really exaggerate, so I\u2019m going to try to keep this simple and factual,\u201d Kutcher said. \u201cToday is probably the most important day in the history of humankind. It is the 211th meeting of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.”<\/p>\n

“Now, let\u2019s be clear about something. What is at stake today? Everything. It is pride, it is history, it is gridiron glory. The Chicago Bears are prepared to dominate. Let\u2019s get it done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kutcher was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Chicago was the closest NFL city, and he has remained fiercely loyal to the Bears ever since. He even hoped to name his son, Dimitri, after the team, with the youngster given the nickname ‘Bear’ instead.<\/p>\n

The intensity Kutcher described wasn\u2019t exaggerated. In Week 16, the Bears and Packers met in a tense rematch that ended with Chicago mounting a late comeback to defeat Green Bay 22\u201316 in overtime, taking control of the NFC North and reigniting postseason momentum.<\/p>\n

The Bears overcame an early deficit and forced extra time before quarterback Caleb Williams connected for the go-ahead score in OT, giving Chicago its first home win over the Packers since 2018 and keeping playoff momentum alive.<\/p>\n

On Saturday night, the Bears once again hosted the Packers again in the NFC Wild Card round and produced one of the most remarkable comebacks of the postseason.<\/p>\n

Green Bay surged to a 21-6 lead by halftime and appeared in command, but Chicago exploded for 25 fourth-quarter points to win 31-27 and advance to the divisional round.<\/p>\n

Williams led the charge in his playoff debut, throwing for 361 yards and engineering the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
