Image: Supplied \/ Tamara Jade Media <\/p>\n<p>A new player will join the fold with Ford\u2019s one-make Mustang Cup adding to a SpeedSeries bill that also welcomed the Ferrari Challenge last year.<\/p>\n<p>The SRO-run SpeedSeries continues to be headlined by GT World Challenge Australia and GT4 Australia, with the latter again expected to enjoy packed grids.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Super2, Carrera Cup Australia, Toyota GR Cup, SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters and Aussie Racing Cars continue as Supercars\u2019 official support categories.<\/p>\n<p>The booming Trans Am Series also now has five of its seven rounds on the Supercars support card and is increasingly being positioned as a feeder category for the championship.<\/p>\n<p>Trans Am is among many national categories spreading its series across multiple promoters, with an appearance at the Bathurst 6 Hour and Island Magic also scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>Its sister series, TA2 Muscle Cars, continues to headline the AASA-sanctioned Hi-Tec Oils Super Series card, which is now also home to the national Formula Ford series.<\/p>\n<p>Seperate Production Car series will meanwhile be held across both sides of the MA\/AASA divide, with the MA-sanctioned class running a season that concludes with the 2027 Bathurst 6 Hour.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the most unusual calendar belongs to TCR Australia, for which all five scheduled rounds are slated across The Bend and Mallala as <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/tcr-australia-news-2026-calendar-race-format-classes-the-bend-mallala-new-category-manager-details\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">part of the latest effort to keep the category alive.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While the countdown continues to the start of the national circuit racing season, this week\u2019s Pirtek Poll asks: Which national category are you looking forward to most in 2026?<\/p>\n<p><a data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/285249\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/a\/285249\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pirtek.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored nofollow\"><br \/>\n                <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/img-pirtek-poll.jpg\" alt=\"Pirtek Poll\" class=\"pollHead\"\/><br \/>\n            <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The countdown to the season is on.
