As it turns out, that idea didn\u2019t last long.<\/p>\n
Many fans questioned whether the stocky, muscle-bound Brady could ever safely make 155 pounds \u2014 and after running the numbers, Brady confirmed it\u2019s simply not happening.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe thing was, what I said on the show was I was going to do some testing and we\u2019d see where we\u2019d go from there,\u201d Brady explained on his podcast The BradyBagz Show. \u201cI ain\u2019t going to 155. I did a Dexa scan and I was dieting pretty hard right after my fight \u2014 the lowest I got down to was 190 pounds. I was super lean, sitting at seven percent body fat.\u201d<\/p>\n
After consulting with the UFC Performance Institute, the verdict was crystal clear.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was talking to the guys at the UFC P.I., and they said I\u2019d almost have to cut off a limb to try and make it,\u201d Brady added.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m a bigger Welterweight when it comes to muscle. I\u2019m not small, it\u2019s just dimension-wise,\u201d Brady said. \u201cBut I\u2019ve beaten tall guys my entire career. There\u2019s no reason for me to change divisions. I didn\u2019t lose to Morales because he was taller than me \u2014 I just got caught. That\u2019s that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brady insists he\u2019ll bounce back strong and reestablish himself as a title threat.<\/p>\n
