When\u00a0No. 1\u00a0Indiana\u00a0football\u00a0dominated\u00a0No. 5\u00a0<\/a>Oregon\u00a0in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Peach Bowl on Jan. 9, the Hoosiers had\u00a0a\u00a0pair of\u00a0players\u00a0tended to\u00a0on\u00a0the field\u00a0with injuries\u00a0during the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, none of the ailments sustained against the Ducks will\u00a0impact\u00a0any Hoosier\u2019s\u00a0status for the CFP National Championship game against\u00a0the\u00a0No. 10 University of Miami at 7:30 p.m. Jan.\u00a019 inside Hard Rock Stadium in\u00a0Miami\u00a0Gardens, Florida.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came out really good,\u201d\u00a0Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti said during a Zoom press conference Monday, \u201cand everybody that played in the last game will play in this game.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sixth-year senior defensive lineman\u00a0Mikail Kamara\u00a0was the primary Hoosier in question\u00a0after the Peach Bowl. Indiana\u2019s\u00a0training staff\u00a0tended to\u00a0him\u00a0a couple\u00a0of\u00a0times against the Ducks with\u00a0undisclosed injuries, but\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0seemingly set\u00a0to play\u00a0against the Hurricanes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Junior safety Amare Ferrell was checked out\u00a0my the\u00a0training staff after the game\u2019s opening kickoff, but he returned soon after.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Hoosiers have four players who\u00a0remain\u00a0out with season-ending injuries:\u00a0senior\u00a0defensive linemen Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt,\u00a0sixth-year\u00a0safety Bryson Bonds and\u00a0redshirt junior\u00a0running back Lee Beebe Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sixth-year senior kickoff specialist Brendan Franke was originally listed\u00a0as\u00a0\u201cout\u201d\u00a0in the first availability report released three days before the Peach Bowl before being upgraded to\u00a0\u201cdoubtful\u201d\u00a0the following two days.\u00a0He\u00a0was a\u00a0\u201cgame-time decision\u201d\u00a0against the\u00a0Ducks but\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0play.\u00a0He\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0taken to the field since\u00a0Oct. 25, when\u00a0he suffered a lower-body injury\u00a0against UCLA<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Update\u00a0on injured Hurricanes\u00a0<\/p>\n

Much like Indiana, No. 10 Miami exited its Fiesta Bowl victory over the No. 6 University of Mississippi\u00a0similarly to how it started in terms of injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sixth-year redshirt senior defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor,\u00a0who\u2019s\u00a0totaled 15.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks\u00a0this season, suffered an elbow injury against the Rebels. However, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal said\u00a0during a Zoom press conference Monday that\u00a0Mesidor is\u00a0in \u201cgreat condition.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cristobal also described redshirt junior defensive lineman Ahmad Moten Sr. as \u201cfull throttle.\u201d The fourth-year Hurricanes head coach said sophomore defensive back OJ Frederique Jr.\u00a0is \u201cgood to go.\u201d\u00a0Frederique suffered a leg injury in the CFP quarterfinal at the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State on Dec. 31 and played just five snaps against Ole Miss.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Redshirt sophomore defensive back Damari Brown,\u00a0who\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0played in the CFP,\u00a0remains\u00a0\u201cday-by-day,\u201d Cristobal said, while sophomore tight end Elija Lofton\u2019s\u00a0game-day\u00a0status is\u00a0unclear. The latter\u00a0was seen\u00a0spitting\u00a0up\u00a0blood on the sideline after a hit on the\u00a0field\u00a0against the Rebels\u00a0and\u00a0was later carted to the locker room.\u00a0<\/p>\n
