Police believe the man wanted over a shooting in Western Australia’s Mid West is using his bush and survival skills to “actively” avoid them.<\/p>\n
Kenneth John Giles remains at large since the Wednesday evening altercation near Mullewa, 450km north of Perth, \u00a0which left a woman with a gunshot wound to her hand.<\/p>\n
Police have confirmed multiple shots were fired during the incident.<\/p>\n
With no sign of the 58-year-old, police have issued a third plea for him to surrender.<\/p>\n
“I urge you to contact police so we can sort this out,” Acting Superintendent Ben Huggett said.<\/p>\n

“This has gone on long enough; you must be uncomfortable out there, you must be anxious.<\/p>\n
“Which is why we want to help you resolve this safely and peacefully.”<\/p>\n
Supt Huggett appeared keen to reassure Mr Giles no-one else had been seriously hurt.<\/p>\n
“Thankfully, no other persons were injured during that incident,” he said.<\/p>\n
“Which is why we want you to come in, so we can resolve this.”<\/p>\n

Full scale search effort remains<\/p>\n
Police have deployed significant resources in a bid to track Mr Giles down, but are yet to establish a firm lead on his location.<\/p>\n
They believe he remains within the Midwest Gascoyne Police District \u2014 an area larger than Victoria \u2014 but are investigating whether he could be elsewhere in WA or even interstate.<\/p>\n
“He’s got strong survival skills; he’s actively avoiding us, we believe,” Supt Huggett said.<\/p>\n
“There are a large number of farms and cattle stations we have attended.<\/p>\n
“At this stage we’ve received a lot of information, but no sign of Mr Giles.”<\/p>\n

Police are searching thousands of kilometres of rural and bush land for any sign of Mr Giles. (ABC News)<\/p>\n
They confirmed last week that the 58-year-old was not a licensed firearms holder, with 17 other firearms seized as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n
After initially suggesting the guns had been seized from the property where the shooting occurred, police have clarified that was not the case.<\/p>\n
“I want to clarify that no firearms were seized from the primary location, but firearms have been seized from a number of properties in the area,” Supt Huggett said.<\/p>\n
They also confirmed the altercation between the woman and Mr Giles was being treated as a family and domestic violence incident.<\/p>\n
Police say Mr Giles should not be approached if seen, with locals asked to contact Triple Zero (000) with any sightings.<\/p>\n
He is described as 173cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n
