{"id":409946,"date":"2026-01-13T10:49:19","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T10:49:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/409946\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T10:49:19","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T10:49:19","slug":"nba-trade-rumors-update-nets-deadline-plans-for-michael-porter-jr-amid-ja-morant-grizzlies-buzz","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/409946\/","title":{"rendered":"NBA Trade Rumors Update Nets&#8217; Deadline Plans for Michael Porter Jr. Amid Ja Morant, Grizzlies Buzz"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. has found himself in <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25355338-nba-trade-rumors-ja-morant-michael-porter-jr-potential-nets-grizzlies-deal-deadline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">trade rumors<\/a> ahead of the deadline, but it appears he may be staying put, at least for the remainder of the season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">NBA insider <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/marcstein.substack.com\/p\/sunday-best-the-nba-trade-season-c66\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Marc Stein<\/a> reported Sunday that he&#8217;s &#8220;hearing pushback about the Nets&#8217; willingness to part ways with Porter before the offseason.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">That report from Stein comes after The Athletic&#8217;s <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6959490\/2026\/01\/10\/ja-morant-trade-market-grizzlies-clippers-timberwolves\/?source=emp_shared_article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Jon Hollinger<\/a> called Brooklyn a &#8220;dark horse&#8221; to land Memphis Grizzlies&#8217; Ja Morant at the deadline. Hollinger noted that one league source said Porter &#8220;is a lack to move by the deadline.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">It&#8217;s easy to see why Porter may be viewed as a trade candidate ahead of the deadline. The Nets are currently 13th in the East at 11-24 with no signs of a turnaround coming. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Porter has been electric since being traded from the Denver Nuggets, as he&#8217;s putting up 25.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game with his new squad.
