Tampa Bay Lightning<\/a> forward Brayden Point<\/a> left his team\u2019s game against the Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> with an apparent lower-body injury on Monday night and did not return.<\/p>\n

The injury occurred early in the second period when Point scored off a rebound in front of the Flyers\u2019 net to make the game 3-0.<\/p>\n

In the process, Point\u2019s right leg got tangled with Flyers defenceman Cam York<\/a> and the 5-foot-11 centre immediately grabbed his knee in pain.<\/p>\n

Point needed help getting off the ice and couldn\u2019t put pressure on his right leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we all saw [the injury], so let\u2019s see,\u201d Lightning head coach Jon Cooper said after his team\u2019s 5-1 win.<\/p>\n

Cooper added that Point will travel with the team when they take on the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Tuesday but his status for the game is uncertain.<\/p>\n

The Calgary native was one of Canada\u2019s first six roster players announced for the 2026 Winter Olympics, slated to begin at the beginning of February.<\/p>\n

Point has 10 goals and 29 points in 36 games with the Lightning this season. He had five goals and 11 points in his last eight games.<\/p>\n

The tough part for Pointer is his game head really turned the corner and it seemed he was scoring every night for us,” said Cooper.<\/p>\n

Tampa Bay sat in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 27-13-3 record entering Monday\u2019s action and is one point behind the Detroit Red Wings<\/a> for the division lead.<\/p>\n
