{"id":410664,"date":"2026-01-13T19:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T19:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/410664\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T19:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T19:42:09","slug":"lakers-lebron-james-special-edition-jersey-patch-trolled-by-kings-on-social-media-after-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/410664\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakers&#8217; LeBron James, Special-Edition Jersey Patch Trolled by Kings on Social Media After Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Twenty-three years after the Sacramento Kings became the first team to see what LeBron James was capable of doing in the NBA, they got to have some fun at his expense following Tuesday&#8217;s 124-112 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Kings trolled James and the NBA&#8217;s decision to debut a jersey patch to commemorate his record-setting 23rd season in the league for Tuesday&#8217;s game. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">It was announced earlier in the day that the NBA was adding a patch to James&#8217; jersey featuring the silhouette of his iconic pregame chalk toss, along with three color stripes representing the three different teams he has played for. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The date to debut the patch was specifically chosen by the NBA because James made his pro debut against the Kings in Sacramento on Oct. 29, 2003. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">James is the first player in NBA history to play in 23 seasons. He <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/leaders\/g_career.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">ranks<\/a> second all-time in games played with 1,582 and could pass Robert Parrish (1,611) this season if he appears in 30 of the Lakers&#8217; final 45 games. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Kings were able to spoil the patch debut by taking advantage of the leaky defense in Los Angeles. The 124 points was their most in a game since Dec. 23. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">James finished with 22 points, four rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes.
