{"id":410715,"date":"2026-01-13T20:10:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-13T20:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/410715\/"},"modified":"2026-01-13T20:10:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T20:10:09","slug":"friendly-seal-plays-with-people-in-adorable-scenes-at-city-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/410715\/","title":{"rendered":"Friendly seal plays with people in adorable scenes at City Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Beachgoers had an adorable surprise as a friendly seal joined them for a swim at City Beach on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The video, posted to Perth Is OK, shows the seal frolicking in the water as a group of people watch on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">The seal gently approaches a man who is holding a child and bobs its head above the water, apparently saying \u201chi\u201d to the pair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">Other beachgoers are pictured getting closer to the seal as it plays, clearly enjoying the crystal clear water and sunny weather under a classic blue WA sky.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cAwwwwww,\u201d one commenter said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cMadness,\u201d another commenter said, perhaps referencing the seal\u2019s bravery to get so close to its human admirers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">It\u2019s the second seal encounter documented in Perth this summer, after a seal jumped into the Cottesloe shark net and attacked a suspected stingray while swimmers watched on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-9cqv6l-StyledPNParagraph e8utp6u0\">\u201cBit of excitement at Sea World Cottesloe this morning.
