\n Liam Delap and Liam Rosenior are ready for chapter two of their working relationship \u2013 this time at Chelsea.

Delap and Rosenior enjoyed a successful 2023\/24 campaign together at Hull City. The young striker thrived under his head coach.<\/p>\n
Making 32 appearances and scoring eight times in all competitions during his time in East Yorkshire, Delap looked at home leading the line for a side coached by Rosenior.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old reflects fondly on the season the two spent together and Delap believes Rosenior’s man-management, coupled with his work on the training pitch, will bring out the best of the Chelsea players.<\/p>\n
\u2018He\u2019s an incredible coach and an incredible person,\u2019 Delap replied when asked about working under Rosenior at Hull, who we will face in this season’s FA Cup fourth round.<\/p>\n
\u2018I spent a year with him and I think his ideas, his philosophy and how he wants to play football will really suit us and help us. Especially me and a lot of the young boys he helped at Hull, he really helped us progress, and we\u2019re all doing really well.<\/p>\n
\u2018I really like his management style. As a person, he\u2019s one of the nicest but can be brutally honest at times. I think as a coach, you need to be that. He will tell you why you\u2019re not playing, he\u2019ll tell you where you need to improve, and he\u2019ll tell you where you\u2019re doing well.<\/p>\n
\u2018He\u2019s really honest and if you build that trust with him and his staff, then it will help you. Liam\u2019s honesty is really important.\u2019<\/p>\n
That honesty was exactly what Delap needed at Hull following two frustrating Championship loans the season prior. <\/p>\n
\u2018I had struggled the season before I started working with him because that transition from academy football to a first-team environment is tough,\u2019 he continued.<\/p>\n
\u2018But Liam was one of the coaches who helped me most in terms of that transition. I was very grateful for that, as he and his staff helped me and I developed a lot under him. I\u2019m hoping to continue to do the same now we\u2019re both at Chelsea.\u2019<\/p>\n
Having got off the mark in the Premier League goal for the Blues against Fulham last week, Delap is ready to keep working and is hopeful of having a strong second half of the campaign. <\/p>\n
He added: \u2018It was a difficult start for me with injuries; it\u2019s hard when you come to a new club, and you can\u2019t just get a rhythm going. <\/p>\n
