{"id":411826,"date":"2026-01-14T07:35:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T07:35:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/411826\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T07:35:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T07:35:07","slug":"kiefer-sutherland-allegedly-assaulted-a-rideshare-driver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/411826\/","title":{"rendered":"Kiefer Sutherland allegedly assaulted a rideshare driver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/kiefer-sutherland-on-finally-playing-donald-s-son-and-d-1798245557\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kiefer Sutherland<\/a>, the actor best known for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/kiefer-sutherland-might-be-back-to-torture-us-all-on-th-1798248186\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">torturing<\/a> people on television, was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly attacked a rideshare driver. <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7.com\/post\/actor-kiefer-sutherland-arrested-alleged-assault-rideshare-driver-hollywood\/18398308\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Per ABC News<\/a>, Sutherland entered a rideshare car just after midnight on Monday morning and allegedly assaulted and threatened the driver. Police arrived and detained the actor around 12:15 a.m., and he was bailed out the next morning on a $50,000 bond. He\u2019s scheduled to appear in court on February 2. The driver reportedly did not require medical attention and suffered no serious injuries.<\/p>\n<p>This is not Sutherland\u2019s first run-in with the law. Between 1989 and 2007, he was charged with four DUIs. In 2009, he head-butted fashion designer Jack McCollough, whose representatives characterized the incident as a \u201cvicious, violent, unprovoked attack.\u201d At the time, Sutherland accused McCollough of pushing Brooke Shields, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20090510085528\/http:\/\/www.tvguide.com\/News\/Prosecutors-Kiefer-Sutherland-1005827.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who had no idea what Sutherland was talking about<\/a>.
