“Dangerous” pipe bombs have been found on footpaths in Canberra’s Belconnen district this week, according to ACT Policing. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said they responded to reports of the devices and found several pipe bombs in public areas around Lake Ginninderra between Joynton Smith Drive and Ginninderra Drive in Belconnen.<\/p>\n

Officers said the pipe bombs were discovered over the past two days.<\/p>\n

In a statement, police said they had no information to indicate there might be more pipe bombs in other parts of Canberra.<\/p>\n

But a warning to the public to not approach suspicious items has been released alongside photos that show the appearance of a pipe bomb.<\/p>\n

The images show silver pipe-shaped objects lying on the ground outdoors. They have screw tops and can fit in a person’s hand.<\/p>\n

“ACT Policing is urging anyone who locates a suspicious item within the area not to touch it and immediately contact police on Triple Zero,” an ACT Policing spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
