The Brisbane Lions have been plunged into fresh relationship drama after defender Jack Payne reportedly split from his model girlfriend Bronte Dagg.

The AFL star and pre-med university student were believed to have called it quits in October after eight months together, The Daily Telegraph reported.

A source close to Dagg told The Daily Telegraph the breakdown allegedly came from a loss of trust and “major betrayal.”

“After the grand final, she just thought something was going wrong,” the source claimed.

It was reported that Dagg ended the relationship.

Dagg, who was a national finalist in Miss Universe Australia 2024, attended the Brisbane Lions best and fairest alongside Payne last year.

The couple no longer follow each other on Instagram.

It comes after new details emerged about the marriage breakdown of the Lions’ star player Lachie Neale and his wife Jules.

Jules reportedly found out about her husband’s betrayal after the girlfriend of an unnamed footy player discovered him engaging with the couple’s close friend Tess Crosley in a manner that jeopardised his relationship.

Crosley first gained attention after Jules demanded she remove photos of herself, Neale, and the Crosleys at the 2025 AFL Grand Final.

Jules also posted a statement on Instagram addressing rumours that she and Neale were “working through” issues in their seven-year marriage.

“I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,” Jules said.

“I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.

“All I can do now is to to heal and do what’s best for my children.”

Jules has since relocated back home to Perth with the former couple’s children and Neale has since stepped down as the Brisbane Lions co-captain.
