Ben Affleck<\/a> is that much closer to winning the Dad of the Year award thanks to his friend Matt Damon<\/a>.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n The Gone Girl star, 53, revealed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a> that he took his three kids, whom he shares with ex Jennifer Garner<\/a>, Violet, 20, Seraphina<\/a>, 17, and Samuel<\/a>, 13, to the set of Damon\u2019s new film with director Christopher Nolan<\/a>, The Odyssey.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI did [visit the set] and I\u2019m a huge fan of Chris\u2019, \u201d Affleck recalled. \u201cAnd you know it\u2019s one of those things where my kids never want to come to the set when I\u2019m working. [I\u2019m] like, \u2018Hey guys, we\u2019re doing a thing on the set.\u2019 And they\u2019re like, \u2018No, I got school.\u2019\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cBut they were really psyched to come visit this set. My middle child\u2019s really interested in actually reading the Iliad and The Odyssey, and we went there, and it was really great,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n The Air actor noted that it was a proud dad moment to get to show them the \u201cincredible\u201d way that \u201cHollywood made movies,\u201d and especially the \u201cgreat, epic, in-camera, David Lean\u201d kind of films.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n He also said that he was also thankful that Nolan allowed them to take a look behind the scenes, even though the director \u201cbelieves the set\u2019s a place to work\u201d and is not a place for \u201cschmoozing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cI was really honestly grateful that he let me come by and visit,\u201d Affleck shared. \u201cMy kids really liked it. And so it was kind of cool. It was really, really nice. I was deeply grateful to him.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Damon then chimed in, noting that his best friend of several years was \u201cthe only guest\u201d Nolan had on The Odyssey set \u201cin six months of shooting.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.<\/p>\n Todd Owyoung\/NBC via Getty\u00a0<\/p>\n When a baffled host Jimmy Fallon<\/a> inquired if that was \u201creally\u201d true, Damon confirmed, saying that it was just due to the \u201cworkload.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \u201cIt was such an ambitious project that the amount of work that needed to be done, there was just no time for anything else,\u201d The Martian<\/a> actor explained. \u201cI\u2019ve never, ever done a movie that just required every single person to work, to kind of give maximum effort.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Affleck and Damon were on the show to promote their new Netflix film The Rip, a crime thriller which follows a \u201cgroup of Miami cops as they discover a stash of millions in cash, leading to distrust as outsiders learn about the huge seizure, making them question who to rely on,\u201d according to a synopsis.\n<\/p>\n Jennifer Garner and kids.<\/p>\n \u00a0Albert L.
