The 30-year-old has proved to be a crucial addition to Yamaha\u2019s rider line-up in 2025, helping to develop the V4 bike for 2026. Miller has provided excellent technical feedback<\/a> and has considerably outperformed teammate Miguel Oliveira<\/a>, who has struggled with injury and pace.<\/p>\n However, inconsistency has hampered Miller, having finished in the top 10 only four times. He has suffered four crashes in 2025, which have left him 14th in the standings after 12 races.<\/p>\n Miller is out of contract<\/a> at the end of the season and is hoping to retain his seat at Pramac for 2026. Yamaha hope to see significant changes with the V4 bike, but the Aussie also wants to see a change to the rules.<\/p>\n Speaking via Speedweek<\/a>, the 30-year-old is in favour of a restriction on tear-off visors. Like F1, MotoGP<\/a> riders have multiple thin strips on their visors, which they can tear off one by one during a race when rubber, dirt or insects are kicked up.<\/p>\n Miller sees the danger of tear-off visors, as they can be thrown into the path of another rider and affect their race. Talking about why there was not an immediate ban on this, he said: \u201cWe asked about this a few years ago. There\u2019s also the danger of hitting a bike that\u2019s not accelerating properly.\u201d<\/p>\n The Pramac rider also criticised his fellow riders for tearing off strips of their visors during the formation lap. Of course, it is paramount that they have the best possible visibility on the track, but Miller thinks this is a \u2018pretty stupid\u2019 thing to do.<\/p>\n \u201cRiders try to remove tear-off visors before they take their starting position. They want to avoid it sticking under their bike. But the wind causes the visors to get pulled along, so it\u2019s pretty stupid to do that. Miller and Oliveira are battling it out to become Toprak Razgatlioglu\u2019s<\/a> teammate.<\/p>\n Oliveira is not meeting his performance clause<\/a>, which could see Yamaha drop him before his contract expires in 2026. This gives Miller a major boost, but Mat Oxley thinks Pramac should sign Manu Gonzalez<\/a> instead of the Aussie.<\/p>\n However, there could still be a way that the 30-year-old stays on the grid in 2026.
