The Lemonheads<\/a>\u2019 Evan Dando<\/a> has looked back at his unreleased song \u2018Purple Parallelogram\u2019 that he wrote with Noel Gallagher<\/a>, saying that it didn\u2019t work out due to \u201cbad timing\u201d.<\/p>\n

The singer spoke to NME recently as part of a new Does Rock \u2018N\u2019 Roll Kill Braincells?! interview<\/a>, where he went down memory lane and put his knowledge of his own career history to the test.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, Dando was asked if he could remember the title of the officially unreleased\u00a0song that he co-wrote with Noel Gallagher.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s called \u2018Roll With It\u2019,\u201d he joked, before adding: \u201cNo \u2013 \u2018Purple Parallelogram\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

The song remains unreleased, although there is a version that made its way onto promo copies of The Lemonheads\u2019 1996 album \u2018Car Button Cloth\u2019 \u2013 but this was later removed after Noel asked him to take it down.<\/p>\n

Talking to NME, Dando went onto share more insight into the song, and explain how it feels closely intertwined with the Oasis classic track \u2018Roll With It\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe reason I wasn\u2019t allowed to use it was because I gave him this pill and he had this dream, then starts singing \u2018Purple Parallelogram\u2019 [to the tune of what became Oasis<\/a>\u2019 1995 single \u2018Roll with It\u2019],\u201d the singer shared.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not claiming the credit for \u2018Roll With It\u2019 \u2013 but it does have the same melody. That\u2019s pretty loose. It wouldn\u2019t stand up in court! But that\u2019s what it was \u2013 even if he didn\u2019t know it at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also went on to recall how Noel told manager Alan McGee<\/a> about the song and asked him not to tell his publisher about it \u2013 not realising that McGee was also acting as his publisher at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time, it was bad timing, so I had to roll with it. \u2018Purple Parallelogram\u2019 wasn\u2019t a great song, and I like \u2018Roll With It\u2019, so if I had anything to do with that, it would be cool,\u201d Dando added.<\/p>\n

While on the topic of Oasis, The Lemonheads singer went on to recall how he was \u201con tour with Oasis for two weeks before their first record [1994\u2019s \u2018Definitely Maybe\u2019] came out\u201d and was struggling to accept the idea of \u201cgoing home\u201d after months on the road.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Sharing one of his top anecdotes from that time, he also shared how one night he was \u201cstaying in Liam<\/a>\u2019s room, \u2018cause he was out all night partying\u201d, and accidentally broke the television.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cops arrested me, and Liam walked past and was so psyched because he saw me being led out in handcuffs wearing a mohair jumper,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd [he] yelled: \u2018Fucking hey, John-Boy on acid! That\u2019s Sid Vicious man!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
