\n\tThe Owens sisters are back. <\/p>\n

\n\tNicole Kidman posted a video on her Instagram Friday of herself and Sandra Bullock filming on their first day on the set of \u201cPractical Magic 2<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the video, Kidman is seen embracing Bullock as they stand in front of a headstone at a cemetery. \u201cThe witches are back,\u201d the caption reads. \u201cOwens sisters\u2019 first day on set!\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBullock and Kidman are reprising their roles as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens, who descend from a long line of witches. In the 1998 original, based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, the two witches find themselves fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with. Plot details for the second film have not been disclosed, though the story is reportedly based on a later installment in Hoffman\u2019s \u201cPractical Magic\u201d book series.<\/p>\n

\n\tDianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will reprise their roles as Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances \u201cFran\u201d Owens, respectively. Additional cast members include Lee Pace\u00a0(\u201cBodies Bodies Bodies\u201d),\u00a0Joey King (\u201cThe Act\u201d), Maisie\u00a0Williams\u00a0(\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d),\u00a0Xolo Maridue\u00f1a\u00a0(\u201cBlue Beetle\u201d) and\u00a0Solly McLeod\u00a0(\u201cThe Dead Don\u2019t Hurt\u201d). <\/p>\n

\n\tSusanne Bier (\u201cBird Box\u201d) is directing from a screenplay co-written by\u00a0Akiva Goldsman, who also co-wrote the original, and\u00a0Georgia Pritchett\u00a0(\u201cSuccession\u201d). <\/p>\n

\n\tEarlier this year<\/a>, Kidman told Variety\u2018s Marc Malkin that she and Bullock were already thinking about a follow-up when they shot the first film. \u201cWhen we were making it, we definitely did,\u201d\u00a0Kidman said. \u201cWe\u2019re so excited. Yes, yes, beyond excited. You heard our spell. We put out our spell already.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPractical Magic 2\u201d is set to debut on Sept. 18, 2026.<\/p>\n
