Hong Kong actress Carina Lau has opened up about her thoughts on getting older, revealing that she has begun to display symptoms of ageing.<\/p>\n
In an episode of the Chinese variety programme The Blooming Journey 2 \u2013 which also features actresses Cecilia Cheung, Liu Xiaoqing and Ning Jing \u2013 Lau said she often finds herself repeating the same sentences and is becoming increasingly forgetful.<\/p>\n
“Sometimes, I’ll leave my room to look for something, only to forget what it was. I end up having to retrace my steps just to remember,”\u00a0said Lau, who is married to Hong Kong actor Tony Leung.<\/p>\n
The actress added that these symptoms made her realise she was getting older and asked the guests present if they had encountered similar experiences.<\/p>\n
In response, Liu, 71, offered Lau a different perspective, arguing that her forgetfulness wasn’t\u00a0a matter of age but a result of information overload in today’s\u00a0modern society.<\/p>\n
“There’s too much information to process in the world now, so our attention is easily interrupted.<\/p>\n
“We have to keep up with current and upcoming work, so our brain automatically ignores things that aren’t important,”\u00a0she said, noting that young people experience similar situations too.\u00a0<\/p>\n
