Broncos star Payne Haas has left his future up in the air with the prop only agreeing to a one-year extension with the reigning premiers. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s according to Code Sports,<\/a> who says Haas and the Broncos are close to making the deal official.<\/p>\n

It means Haas, 26, is now contracted through until the end of 2027 while being taken off the NRL\u2019s open market. <\/p>\n

However, it leaves the threat of Haas leaving for R360 very much alive, which should be cause for consternation for the Broncos.<\/p>\n

Haas was reportedly close to signing with the rebel competition on a deal worth $3 million before the R360 start date was postponed from 2026 to 2028. <\/p>\n

With Haas\u2019 extended deal running until the end of 2027, the star middle may just be inking a one-year contract so he can weigh his options up again in the short term. <\/p>\n

It has been reported that the Broncos wanted to extend Haas for three more seasons until the end of 2029. <\/p>\n

Broncos coach Michael Maguire doesn\u2019t know what Haas\u2019 future holds beyond 2027, but he knows one thing is for certain.<\/p>\n
