When Johnny Knoxville announced a new \u201cJackass\u201d movie coming to theaters in June, fans of the slapstick stunt franchise wondered what type of role the 54-year-old ringleader would have in the production.<\/p>\n
In 2022\u2019s \u201cJackass Forever,\u201d Knoxville performed a stunt where he was pummeled by a bull. He flipped in the air and landed on his head, causing a brain hemorrhage, concussion, broken wrist and broken rib. He has talked about how the injury changed his outlook on the future, indicating he would retire from doing dangerous stunts. Plus, the fourth \u201cJackass\u201d movie introduced a bevy of younger performers alongside the original crew, hinting at the franchise\u2019s potential future.<\/p>\n

In a brief discussion about \u201cJackass 5\u201d on the \u201cBooks That Changed My Life\u201d podcast<\/a>, Knoxville was asked, \u201cAre you allowed to do stunts anymore?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t do anything where I can get another concussion,\u201d Knoxville said. \u201c[I\u2019m] way over my limit for concussions, but I don\u2019t care about anything else. I just can\u2019t get hit in the head anymore \u2014 but a lot of other guys can.\u201d<\/p>\n Knoxville said the \u201cJackass\u201d movies are \u201cpure hell for the cast, but they\u2019re a lot of fun for me,\u201d adding, \u201cThey\u2019re having fun too. I\u2019m very excited about that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cJackass 5\u201d will premiere in theaters<\/a> on June 26 from Paramount Pictures. Little is known about the project except for that it will include new material and never-before-seen archival footage. Variety reported that original cast member Bam Margera has signed a deal<\/a> to appear in old footage, ending a years-long feud between him and the \u201cJackass\u201d team following his firing from the fourth movie.
