ACT police say they have found four more pipe bombs in the Belconnen area, after 11 were discovered close to Lake Ginninderra over the previous two days.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, ACT Policing issued a warning to the public<\/a>, saying pipe bombs had been found near footpaths in the area between Ginninderra Drive and Joynton Smith Drive in north-west Canberra.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, police held a press conference about the findings, saying 11 explosive devices had been located.<\/a><\/p>\n

Today’s update brings the total to 15.<\/p>\n

Some of the devices had detonated prior to being found, while others were detonated by police.<\/p>\n

Police have urged members of the public to avoid touching the devices if they find them, and to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.<\/p>\n

There is no advice to avoid the area.<\/p>\n

“ACT Policing yesterday cleared the area between Ginninderra Drive and Joynton Smith Drive and will continue to respond to reports of suspected explosive devices as required,” an ACT Policing statement said.<\/p>\n

A police investigation is underway, with Detective Acting Inspector Anna Wronski saying yesterday that “any explosive is dangerous”.<\/p>\n
