{"id":415920,"date":"2026-01-16T02:25:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T02:25:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/415920\/"},"modified":"2026-01-16T02:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T02:25:13","slug":"laikas-wildwood-pittock-mansion-featurette","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/415920\/","title":{"rendered":"LAIKA&#8217;s &#8220;Wildwood&#8221; Pittock Mansion Featurette"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/laikas-wildwood-pittock-mansion-featurette.jpg\" data-caption=\"LAIKA\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/laikas-wildwood-pittock-mansion-featurette.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"laikas-wildwood-pittock-mansion-featurette\"\/><\/a>LAIKA<\/p>\n<p>Beloved \u201cParaNorman\u201d and \u201cCoraline\u201d animation studio LAIKA has revealed a new featurette for their next film \u201cWildwood\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s sixth feature is helmed by Travis Knight (\u201cKubo and the Two Strings\u201d) from a script by Chris Butler (\u201cParaNorman,\u201d \u201cMissing Link\u201d), based on the novel by Colin Meloy.<\/p>\n<p>The Portland-set story follows Prue McKeel who, along with her best friend Curtis, enters a hidden and enchanted forest cultivated by original settlers known as the<br \/>impassable wilderness.<\/p>\n<p>The woods want to keep people away from whatever secrets are hiding inside, including her baby brother Mac who has been taken by a murder of crows and a mysterious woman named Alexandra into the forest\u2019s depths.<\/p>\n<p>The featurette puts the focus on a key location in the film \u2013 the Pittock Mansion, one of Portland\u2019s most iconic landmarks reimagined into a symbol of mystery, power, and magic.<\/p>\n<p>Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amanda Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits and Richard E.
