Jimmy Crute won\u2019t get the chance to fight close to home after he was forced to drop out of his matchup against Dustin Jacoby at UFC 325 in Australia.<\/p>\n
The veteran light heavyweight revealed he suffered a serious injury in training that\u2019s going to require him to undergo surgery and likely derail him for the majority of 2026. It\u2019s obviously unfortunate news after Crute picked up back-to-back wins in his most recent appearances in the UFC.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have some pretty disappointing news. On Monday, I completely ruptured my ACL,\u201d Crute said on Instagram. \u201cI am out of my fight Feb. 1 against Dustin [Jacoby]. Extremely disappointed. I\u2019m obviously very disappointed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think I can use this opportunity to grow and build patience, in 9 or 10 months, I\u2019ll come back stronger. More in tune with my body and stronger legs.\u201d<\/p>\n
A torn ACL typically takes anywhere between nine months to a year for recovery so Crute likely has a long road to walk before he can fight again.<\/p>\n
As for Jacoby, he dropped Crute a message in his original post revealing the injury but there\u2019s no word if he\u2019s going to remain on UFC 325 against a new opponent or not.<\/p>\n

Crute\u2019s recent wins helped get him back on track following a rough run in his career where he 0-3 with two draws over a five fight span, which also included a lengthy layoff as he contemplated his future in the sport. He eventually returned in 2025 and following a draw with Rodolfo Bellato, Crute scored submission wins over Marcin Prachnio and Ivan Erslan.<\/p>\n
\u201cA little speedbump,\u201d Crute siad. \u201cBut I\u2019ll be back stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n
With Crute vs. Jacoby off the card, the bout order for UFC 325 will get shuffled after the light heavyweights were originally scheduled to kick off the main card on Jan. 31.
