Freddie Mercury’s<\/a> alleged ‘secret daughter’ has died. She was 48.<\/p>\n

The woman, known as B and who is claimed to have had a close relationship with the Queen<\/a> frontman, passed away after a long battle with cancer, The Daily Mail<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

B’s widower Thomas told the publication she “died peacefully after a long battle with chordoma,” a rare spinal cancer.<\/p>\n

He also said that B leaves behind “two sons, aged nine and seven”.\ufeff<\/p>\n

“B is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts,” he added, per the publication.<\/p>\n

“Her ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.” \ufeff<\/p>\n

Author Lesley-Ann Jones alleged that Mercury had a daughter in 1976<\/a> in a biography of the late rock icon titled Love, Freddie, in which she was referred to only as B.<\/p>\n

\ufeffAccording to the book, Mercury welcomed B following an affair with the wife of a close friend in 1976.<\/p>\n

The Daily Mail has since reported that Mercury referred to her as ‘Bibi’ and wrote \ufeffa number of songs about her.<\/p>\n

B kept her relationship to Mercury secret from the public until she shared the revelation with Jones.<\/p>\n

Prior to that, her existence was only known by a select few in Mercury’s life but the singer reportedly regularly visited his daughter and gifted her 17 volumes of his personal journals before his death in 1991.<\/p>\n

B penned a handwritten note which has been included in the posthumous biography ahead of its release in September last year.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffFreddie Mercury was and is my father,” the letter read, per the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

“We have a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life\ufeff,” it continued.<\/p>\n

“He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people’s standards, unusual and even outrageous.<\/p>\n

“That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me. He cherished me like a treasured possession.”<\/p>\n

Mercury died from bronchial pneumonia at his London home on November 24 1991, aged 45, just one day after announcing that he had been diagnosed with AIDS.<\/p>\n
