Josh Inglis will return for Perth Scorchers in their clash for top spot against Melbourne Stars on Saturday after a Cricket Australia-imposed rest.

The wicketkeeper didn’t feature in Perth’s rollicking road victory over Melbourne Renegades on Thursday night after being rested, ahead of Australia’s T20 World Cup campaign beginning on February 11.

Inglis has played just two games for Perth this season, hitting 13 and 42, with his involvement in the 4-1 Ashes series victory over England, but should be available for all of next week’s BBL finals series.

The 30-year-old returning is the only change to the Scorchers squad used against the Renegades, with young spinner Luke Holt expected to maintain his spot.

A victory against the Stars at Optus Stadium would see the Scorchers claim the minor premiership and earn the right to host The Qualifier final, where the victor will go straight through to the decider.

However, if the men in orange fall short, they will likely slip to third and host The Eliminator between third and fourth, where the loser’s season is cut short.

Perth enter the clash in rare form after making it five road games in a row where they’ve posted a total above 200, and star import Finn Allen is coming off his maiden Big Bash century.

Their home form has not been as strong with Perth going 2-2 at Optus Stadium so far this season.

Saturday’s sold-out clash with the Stars starts at the unusual time of 5.15pm.

Josh Inglis will return for Perth Scorchers in their clash for top spot against Melbourne Stars on Saturday…

[564
64,63,22249,740,60180,588,85
post-416471","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cricket","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-big-bash-league","tag-cricket","tag-perth-scorchers","tag-sport","tag-sports
["GET
