Versatile Tigers star Adam Doueihi potentially increased his value \u201c$50,000 to $100,000\u201d after an outstanding performance on Sunday amid strong interest from the Dragons.<\/p>\n

Off contract at season\u2019s end, Doueihi was in everything in his side\u2019s 28-14 win over the Bulldogs, continuing a terrific run of recent form as he attempts to earn a new deal for 2026. <\/p>\n

The Dragons have offered Doueihi a two-year deal and according to veteran journalist Phil Rothfield, the 26-year-old is \u201cvery, very close\u201d to signing with the Red V.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Tigers\u2019 current offer is only for one season, but Rothfield thinks club CEO Shane Richardson should quickly up that amount in a last-gasp bid to keep the popular Doueihi.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goodness he was good yesterday. I reckon he\u2019s added $50-$100k to his value per season just on one performance yesterday,\u201d Rothfield said on the Big Sports Breakfast. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s been playing well all year in an average sort of side.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow the Dragons have offered him two years and Shane Flanagan sees him as a lock forward, a half, a centre. He\u2019s very, very close I\u2019m told to signing with the Dragons.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a very good footballer. I think the Tigers are going to have to do a lot better to keep him in the jersey next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe might even hear something in the next few days, whether yesterday will change things and Shane Richardson will go banging on his door today and throw in an extra $50k, which I think he deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doueihi\u2019s recent run of form is a great story.<\/p>\n

Since debuting back in 2018, he\u2019s only played in 112 NRL games because of a wretched run of serious knee injuries, which included two ACL ruptures.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Doueihi was named at lock forward but in a late switch from coach Benji Marshall, started at halfback, where he\u2019s spent a bit of time in over the course of the season. <\/p>\n

The end result was a glittering display and a huge win over the third-placed Bulldogs. Doueihi finished the game with a try, four goals, 153 running metres, five tackle busts and two try assists.<\/p>\n

While the Dragons are closing in, it appears Doueihi is keen to stay put at Concord. <\/p>\n

Fox League\u2019s Matty Johns referenced an interview the Tigers star did following the win over the Bulldogs where Doueihi jokingly called out Richardson. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was interviewed on radio at full time and they said, well done and he said, \u2018if Richo\u2019s listening, how about that\u2019,\u201d Johns said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou talk about good timing. He\u2019s off contract at the moment and he\u2019s playing the best footy of his career.\u201d<\/p>\n

NRL great Bryan Fletcher says the Tigers need to pull out all the stops to keep Doueihi. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey can\u2019t afford to lose him,\u201d Fletcher said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s got to do with money.
