Monaco are looking at potential replacements for Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> summer target Maghnes Akliouche amid the 23-year-old\u2019s uncertain future at the club, journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed.<\/p>\n

The Ligue 1 side are reportedly preparing for Akliouche\u2019s potential departure either this month or in the summer, as the France international looks to be on his way out of Monaco in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Gold suggests Tottenham looked at signing Akliouche as an alternative to Xavi Simons before the season and has not ruled out the north London club returning for the 23-year-old this month.<\/p>\n

Simons has scored just one Premier League goal since his \u00a351m arrival from RB Leipzig on a contract running until June 2030.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Could Return for Maghnes Akliouche<\/p>\n

Gold, speaking on his YouTube<\/a> channel, revealed that Monaco are preparing for Akliouche\u2019s departure, months after Tottenham looked at signing the winger last summer:<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that Monaco are looking at potential replacements for him in case they do lose him either this month or the summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom what I understand, he was an alternate option to Xavi Simons in the summer, so it maybe would be a bit of a surprise if they were to then turn to another option when they’ve signed Xavi.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we’ll see, we’ll see.\u201d<\/p>\n

After registering 15 goal contributions in 32 league appearances and firing Monaco into Champions League qualification last season, Akliouche has endured a difficult 2025\/26 campaign, both individually and at club level.<\/p>\n

The \u00a350m-rated<\/a> forward has registered just three goals and two assists in 16 league appearances for the struggling Monegasque side, who sit ninth in the Ligue 1 standings after 17 games.<\/p>\n

Following his impressive 2024\/25 campaign, Akliouche was rewarded with a maiden call-up to the France national team and has made five appearances in World Cup qualifiers, scoring once.<\/p>\n

Spurs Eyeing New Forward in January<\/p>\n

Tottenham are considering the possibility of adding a new wide forward<\/a> to Thomas Frank\u2019s squad this month amid injuries to key players.<\/p>\n

The Lilywhites are without Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison and Lucas Bergvall at the moment and could end up moving for a new attacker before the transfer window shuts on February 2.<\/p>\n

Spurs have announced Conor Gallagher\u2019s arrival from Atletico Madrid this week and are anticipated to welcome Brazilian left-back Souza next.<\/p>\n

The two deals are likely to set the north London club back by \u00a353m, while \u00a340m was generated through the sale of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n
