Lawyers for the third person charged in relation to the alleged murder of Bundaberg teenager Pheobe Bishop will seek to have the matter moved to a registry committal.<\/p>\n

Kieren Daniel Mittelheuser, 30, has been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder and one count of attempting to pervert justice.<\/p>\n

He was not required to appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.<\/p>\n

Defence law clerk Daisy White told the court a registry committal request had been filed on Thursday, and asked for a five or six-week adjournment while the application was processed.<\/p>\n

A registry committal is an administrative process completed by the registrar or clerk of the court.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It can save time and costs because it replaces the need for a committal hearing in the Magistrates Court.<\/p>\n

Ms Bishop was due to catch a flight from Bundaberg Airport to Western Australia on May 15, 2025, but never made it to the terminal.<\/p>\n

After weeks of searches for the missing 17-year-old, her body was found<\/a> in Goodnight Scrub National Park.<\/p>\n

In August last year, police alleged Mr Mittelheuser interfered with their investigation by accessing Ms Bishop’s mobile phone in the days after she was reported missing.<\/p>\n

Mr Mittelheuser is the third person arrested in relation to the teenager’s death.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ms Bishop’s housemates, James Wood and Tanika Bromley, have been charged with her murder and remain in custody.<\/p>\n

Mr Mittelheuser is also charged with a string of other unrelated offences.<\/p>\n

He has not yet been required to enter a plea to any of the charges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
