While The Conjuring: Last Rites closed out the main film series, sending off Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, the Conjuring Universe isn\u2019t over.<\/p>\n
Warner Bros. has dated prequel film The Conjuring: First Communion for a September 10, 2027, release, just in time for the Halloween season.<\/p>\n
Plot details remain under wraps at this time, of course, but the prequel comes from director Rodrigue Huart, from a script by Richard Naing & Ian Goldberg. It\u2019s not certain if Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga\u2019s Ed and Lorraine Warren are coming back, though it\u2019s not likely. Deadline<\/a> notes that Warner Bros had this September date in 2027 on hold previously.<\/p>\n Huart\u2019s credits include the short films Transylvanie<\/a>, Trigger, and Reel, and he also directed music videos for musicians GIMS and Yuzmv. Most recently, he directed a TV series titled \u201cLe monde magique de J\u00e9r\u00f4me Commandeur.\u201d<\/p>\n There are currently nine films in The Conjuring universe \u2014 The Conjuring, Annabelle, The Conjuring 2, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun 2, and last year\u2019s The Conjuring: Last Rites.
