Salford’s opening Championship fixture with Oldham was suspended for around 29 minutes due to a medical emergency in the crowd.<\/p>\n

The game was brought to a halt after 32 minutes of the first half when supporters quickly made medical staff inside the CorpAcq Stadium aware of the incident.<\/p>\n

Staff quickly attended the emergency, and the game was suspended by referee Aaron Moore with the players from both Salford and Oldham returning to the changing rooms.<\/p>\n

The game was suspended for 29 minutes, with a round of applause for medical staff that attended the emergency. An update on the supporter is yet to follow.<\/p>\n

Oldham had gained a 16-0 lead with tries from Ben O\u2019Keefe, Ted Chapelhow and Tom Nisbet. It marked the new Salford phoenix club’s first match since their relaunch, spearheaded by Mason Caton-Brown’s consortium.<\/p>\n

The game has since restarted following the doctor’s return to the touchline.<\/p>\n

Salford have since released a statement on social media. It reads: “During tonight\u2019s game versus Oldham, the game was paused due to a medical emergency in the stands.<\/p>\n

“We thank the medical teams who attended the incident. The patient was later transferred from the stadium in an ambulance.
