Thanksgiving 2 was officially announced just two weeks after the first film opened in 2023, with TriStar aiming to have it in theaters in time for the eponymous holiday in 2025.<\/p>\n

However, the sequel has still yet to enter production due to scheduling issues \u2014 including Addison Rae\u2018s touring commitments and Milo Manheim having just signed to star in the live-action remake of Tangled.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Eli Roth is confident John Carver will return when the time is right.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody wants to do it. I\u2019m gonna have it locked and loaded, and we\u2019ll find a time when we\u2019re all available,\u201d Roth told Variety<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ll just go back for a few weeks and have fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roth will return to direct the sequel from a script he co-wrote with Jeff Rendell.<\/p>\n

Nell Verlaque\u00a0and\u00a0Rick Hoffman are also expected to reprise their roles alongside Rae and Manheim.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re upping the ante but we are not going to do it with more money,\u201d Roth previously teased<\/a> of the sequel. \u201cI want it to be a challenge to pull off. Because if I\u2019ve come up with the stuff that I think will make the best kills, then I\u2019m going to do it like I\u2019m never going to make another movie again.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Thanksgiving<\/a>, after a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts \u2013 the birthplace of the holiday. What begins as random revenge killings are soon revealed to be part of a larger, sinister plan.<\/p>\n

While we wait for Thanksgiving 2, Roth is staying busy with his Horror Section Studios projects, including Ice Cream Man<\/a> and Don\u2019t Go in That House, Bitch!<\/a> He\u2019s also developing a \u201cHostel\u201d TV series<\/a> for Peacock.<\/p>\n
