Since then, you might have been wondering what Mario Roman’s next step would be and a series of teasers on his social media have fed the hype and speculation about which team or manufacturer of bike he will ride.

More on that here: Mario Roman Waves Goodbye to Sherco – “I need to explore new paths and opportunities”

Now we have the answer, a new project MR74 Racing Team to race in the Hard Enduro World Championship, marking a major turning point in his career and not the only new development for 2026, more is coming he explain as Enduro21 catches up with to Mario to learn more…

A personal team with its own identity

Building a team from scratch is no easy task, even more so over the Christmas period. “It hasn’t been easy, to be honest,” admits Mario. “Putting everything together on my own and managing every detail is complicated. Even getting a simple sticker kit was a challenge at that time of year.”

Despite the obstacles, the project now has a clear shape and name: MR74 Racing Team. This new structure gives Mario full control over his racing programme, both on and off the bike. “Becoming independent opens new doors for me and allows agreements I couldn’t have before,” he explains, also confirming the continued backing of OnlyFans, who remain onboard as a key supporter.

A technical ‘alliance’

Although the MR74 Racing Team will have just one main rider – Mario himself – it will be supported by a broad network of technical partners. “I’ve put together pieces from here and there,” he summarises.

Those include S3, Two Stroke Performance (TSP), Andreani MHS (Showa suspension specialists), Fastos (a brand that previously supported Graham Jarvis) and Rutherford Racing from the UK form the core technical group. The latter will focus on bike set-up and, in particular, engine mapping. “They’ll make sure the bike is always at 100%” says Mario of Rutherford Racing who work with TSP and have wide experience in the HEWC with riders like Graham Jarvis.

Looking good

Mario will also have full control over his image: “Now I design my kit together with S3 Parts, I choose the colours, logos… If we go to Hixpania, for example, I can customise the bike with the colours of Spain.” More than aesthetics, it is about identity.

Another new addition is Plews Tyres as a technical partner. “They support me with equipment and I help them with product development,” he explains – a mutually beneficial relationship.

Alongside those already mentioned, a wide and varied list of brands make the MR74 Racing Team possible. On the technical side, Polisport, Onegripper and Galfer stand out with key components for the bike. In terms of riding gear, Gaerne boots, Airscreen goggles and POD knee braces feature prominently, alongside Furia clothing and nutritional support from Southgreen. Names such as Nordica, Specialized and Insta360 have also joined the project.

2026 calendar: focus on HEWC

The first race of the year will be on 25 January in the UK, at the opening round of the British Extreme series.

From there, Mario will prioritise events that allow him to build race sharpness and arrive at the World Championship in form. He plans to contest three to four preparation races, including rounds of the Spanish Hard Enduro Championship and key international events: “I’ll travel to Brazil, and Indonesia will also be on the schedule again – it’s become a summer classic.”

The philosophy is simple: race where it makes sense. “I focus on events that motivate me, keep me fit and prepare me for the World Championship, which remains my main goal.”

Sorry Bro Team: the junior project continues

Mario confirms that the Sorry Bro Team will also continue. While MR74 is his personal team, he will share the paddock with his young prospects, albeit with separate structures. In 2026 the team will field Germany’s Lenny Geretzky and Canadian rider Kenny Henderson, who is currently recovering from injury. “Kenny will rejoin later. For now we’re going with Lenny. We prefer quality over quantity.” The aim is to chase results in the Junior World Championship.

More news still to come?

To finish, Mario hints that not everything has been revealed yet: “There’s another piece of news… but we can’t talk about that just yet.” The new team is only the first step in what promises to be a year full of developments.

Enduro21 would be remiss not to mention the elephant in the room which everyone is talking about. The CFMoto logos on his bike and clothing are part of a future development project for Mario who, as we can see, is riding Husqvarna TE300 machinery. Mario told us news on this is still in his pocket for now.

As for the bike, it’s common in motorcycle racing for riders to “wear” a brand name on a different manufacturer’s machine – you can look in MotoGP or Rally for high-profile examples, plus Graham Jarvis has been roaming freely in this way for a number of years now.

For now, the MR74 Racing Team is his new home: a private team, backed by trusted sponsors and technicians, focused on the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship. The season kicks off in the UK on 25 January and, if everything goes to plan, we will see Mario racing with more freedom, more control… and perhaps a few more surprises along the way.

Phot Credit: CIMA

Mario Roman reveals new self-run MR74 Racing Team to contest the 2026 Hard Enduro World Championship – a…

[572
64,63,125618,220708,806,805,803,804,220709,85
0":"post-418830","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-motosport","8":"tag-au","9":"tag-australia","10":"tag-hard-enduro-world-championship","11":"tag-mario-roman","12":"tag-motor","13":"tag-motor-sports","14":"tag-motosport","15":"tag-motosports","16":"tag-mr74-racing-team","17":"tag-sports
["GET
