LONDON BRONCOS have further expanded their social-media presence through the backing of \u2018Big John\u2019 Fisher.<\/p>\n

The 52-year-old from Romford, nicknamed \u2018the Boshfather\u2019 and well-known for his viral fast-food reviews on Instagram and TikTok, has a growing appetite for Rugby League.<\/p>\n

The father of professional heavyweight boxer Johnny Fisher, \u2018Big John\u2019 has previously been involved in marketing projects involving the England team (ahead of last year\u2019s Ashes series) and Warrington (their squad numbers announcement).<\/p>\n

Now the man with around 700,000 followers on Instagram, 500,000 on TikTok and 80,000 on X (formerly Twitter) has visited the Broncos at Hazelwood, the impressive former London Irish rugby union training base in Surrey, which they have acquired since the takeover by Australian duo Darren Lockyer and Grant Wechsel.<\/p>\n

Fisher, who (naturally) had lunch with the players then took part in an impromptu dressing-room cricket knockabout, will be attending the Broncos\u2019 Championship opener against Widnes at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in Wimbledon on Sunday.<\/p>\n

That will be new coach Jason Demetriou\u2019s first competitive match, with a host of new signings, including former Australia prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard, set to make debuts.<\/p>\n

In the video he posted about his Broncos visit, Fisher proclaimed: \u201cHere we are, let\u2019s see how the Rugby League boys do it. Bosh \u2013 let\u2019s have it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The capital club are keen to both raise their profile and increase attendances as they seek a return to Super League through club grading, having lost out to Toulouse and York in the fight for the two places in the expanded section which were available through an application process.<\/p>\n

As well as a visit from Fisher, an additional attraction for the Widnes game is a live DJ set by James Haskell, the former Wasps and England rugby union backrower turned music producer.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old has built his reputation as a DJ through performances in London, Dubai and the renowned party location Ibiza.<\/p>\n
