Charli XCX<\/a> has released a haunting new single, \u2018Wall Of Sound\u2019. Listen below.<\/p>\n

The track is the latest to be shared from Charli\u2019s new album, which she has written for the\u00a0upcoming adaptation of\u00a0Wuthering Heights<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0Emerald Fennell<\/a>. The album will arrive on Friday February 13, and is\u00a0available to pre-order here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far, the record has been previewed by\u00a0\u2018House\u2019,<\/a>\u00a0which saw the singer team up with\u00a0The Velvet Underground<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0John Cale<\/a> to capture an eerie sound, and the gothic track \u2018Chains Of Love\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, Charli has released \u2018Wall Of Sound\u2019, a deeply cinematic, haunting track that opens with orchestral, horror-esque strings and Charli\u2019s raw vocals.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnbelievable tension\/ Wall of sound\/ No real reason and I can\u2019t escape it,\u201d she sings over the spooky chorus of violins. Check it out below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The new film adaptation of \u200b\u200bWuthering Heights is set for release next month (February 13), and stars Margot Robbie<\/a>\u00a0as Catherine Earnshaw and\u00a0Jacob Elordi<\/a>\u00a0as Heathcliff.<\/p>\n

The new songs come after Charli recently said that she was \u201ccurrently feeling more inspired by film than by music\u201d after being left \u201cstuck, empty and barren\u201d after her breakthrough album \u2018Brat\u2018<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[By the end of \u2018Brat\u2019] I sort of felt like I was squeezing blood from a stone, trying to get every last drop of liquid life out of an idea I had already been sat with for years prior,\u201d she shared. \u201cI still love [Brat], don\u2019t get me wrong but I was itching to move on and was simultaneously frustrated that I was so depleted that I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

In May, she hinted that she was expecting her next,\u00a0<\/a>non-<\/a>Wuthering<\/a>\u00a0Heights album to go in a completely different direction than \u2018Brat\u2019<\/a>, saying: \u201cYou can never really do the same thing twice and my next record will probably be a flop, which I\u2019m down for to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in February, her producers\u00a0A.G. Cook<\/a>, Finn Keane and\u00a0George Daniel<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0also her husband<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 said that\u00a0the follow-up is shaping up to be \u201canti-Brat\u201d<\/a>, Keane saying: \u201cSome of the conversations we\u2019re having and music we\u2019ve been playing around with the last couple of months have been completely the opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, she\u00a0revealed that she is \u201cexploring a lot of stuff with strings\u201d for the album<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In other news, Charli\u2019s upcoming mockumentary\u00a0The Moment<\/a> is set to hit UK cinemas on February 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The movie arrives via A24 and is centred around the mammoth response to her 2024 \u2018Brat\u2019 album and subsequent tour.\u00a0Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the film is made using a combination of real footage from the\u00a0tour, interwoven with fictional backstage scenes.<\/p>\n

Starring alongside Charli is Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd, Rachel Sennott, Hailey Benton Gates, Jamie Demetriou, Kate Berlant, and Rosanna Arquette.
