Following his conference in Berlin last Thursday, where he discussed team financing, he commented at a meeting on Saturday with selected media in London that he is interested in Paris Saint-Germain as a potential franchise for the new European league they are developing.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lequipe.fr\/Basket\/Actualites\/Pour-le-patron-de-la-nba-adam-silver-le-psg-a-le-savoir-faire-pour-gerer-un-club-de-basket-au-plus-haut-niveau\/1634351\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">L\u2019\u00c9quipe<\/a>, Adam Silver is considering PSG the main option in Paris for the project.\u00a0\u201cThey play at the highest level of competition (in soccer), and they have the know-how to operate a basketball club at the highest level, if they\u2019re interested. Yes, it\u2019s a club we\u2019re talking to,\u201d the NBA commissioner commented in a roundtable in London on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He reportedly\u00a0appears to be interested in funding from Qatar and American companies for a PSG basketball team. \u201cIt\u2019s ambitious, but it\u2019s doable\u201d, confirmed Silver in the roundtable.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Tatum, Adam Silver\u2019s second hand, emphasized the desire of being in Paris for NBA Europe.\u00a0\u201cParis is a market we absolutely want to be in,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s their ability to create a brand, a culture, their association with the Jordan brand (Michael Jordan\u2019s), which is linked to basketball. We\u2019re looking for the right partners for our project, and PSG brings a very interesting level of expertise in terms of marketing, promotion, and building a global brand.\u201d, Tatum commented.<\/p>\n<p>Paris Basketball is already in the Euroleague. In its second season in the biggest competition in Europe, the French team could not be in Adam Silver\u2019s plans.\u00a0\u201cParis is a fascinating market. There is interest from existing players and from those not yet in the basketball ecosystem. Paris Basketball didn\u2019t exist a few years ago (founded in 2018) and has galvanized fans and built a team that performs well.
