\n But one of the stars of the show was Strike Kings\u2019 own Jake Luckett-Farley, with the Keighley teenager having already won four amateur bouts.\n<\/p>\n
\n Still only 15, the newly-joined Luckett-Farley said: \u201cThis Bradford gym offers training at a very high level.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cI sparred with Abbas (Hussain) who recently won a junior title belt and I learnt that I need to improve my scrambling.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cThat\u2019s about showing who\u2019s dominant when a downed fighter gets up having avoided submission, so I\u2019ll get on with that here.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n His dad added: \u201cMMA has given Jake confidence. It keeps him active.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cWhat\u2019s most important is he\u2019s made lots of friends and will make lots more at his new gym.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Luckett-Farley\u2019s fellow new arrival, Josh Perrett, said: \u201cIt\u2019s about seeing how good you are, what your potential is and most importantly what you need to work on as you spar with other athletes looking for the same feedback on their own performance.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n The 22-year-old former York University student added: \u201cI\u2019ve competed as a kickboxer and now I want an MMA bout on a show.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cStrike\u00a0Kings\u00a0is the place to learn and tis interclub has helped me gain experience without pressure from the crowd or awaiting the judge\u2019s verdict.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cIn effect it\u2019s been a fight simulation.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n Jack Roberts coaches at\u00a0NCAA\u00a0Martial Arts in Silsden and he said: \u201cThis interclub is relatively close to us and offers our fighters the opportunity to improve without worrying about a potential loss on their records.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u201cEach match is just two rounds of two minutes each and as it\u2019s well attended there\u2019s high quality sparring.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n
\n NCAA\u00a0junior fighter Axel Ryan, 14, agreed, saying: \u201cI\u2019ve enjoyed sparring with new people and building experience, which is vital for when I fight on a show.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
\n The interclub event concluded with matched sparring bouts, as boxers from\u00a0Switch Hitters\u00a0in Keighley took on boxers from\u00a0Strike Kings.\n<\/p>\n
