Now, there&#8217;s a sense of how much they were willing to spend.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto&#8217;s offer to the ex-Chicago Cub was $350 million over 10 years, the New York Post&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonHeyman\/status\/2012504551505465639?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Jon Heyman reported<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Had Tucker accepted, it would have been the second-largest contract in franchise history by length and total value, behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr.&#8217;s 14-year, $500 million deal.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Tucker signed a four-year, $240 million contract with the <a class=\"sn-team-post-link\" data-team=\"los-angeles-dodgers\" data-league=\"mlb\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/baseball\/mlb\/teams\/los-angeles-dodgers\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>By average annual value, the difference between Tucker&#8217;s deal with the Dodgers and Toronto&#8217;s offer was $25 million per season.<\/p>\n<p>Another finalist, the <a class=\"sn-team-post-link\" data-team=\"new-york-mets\" data-league=\"mlb\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/baseball\/mlb\/teams\/new-york-mets\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">New York Mets<\/a>&#8216; reported offer was more akin to the Dodgers&#8217; at four years and $220 million, including a $75 million signing bonus. <\/p>\n<p>The Mets signed former Blue Jay <a class=\"sn-player-post-link\" data-player=\"88344347-d02f-4bb0-ab54-81f26f13e5b1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/baseball\/mlb\/players\/bo-bichette\/88344347-d02f-4bb0-ab54-81f26f13e5b1\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Bo Bichette<\/a> on Friday to a similar short-term, high-AAV contract worth $126 million over three years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Toronto Blue Jays were reportedly one of the finalists for star outfielder Kyle Tucker&#8216;s services.
